Der Begleitband zur Jubiläumsschau "Johann Strauss - Die Ausstellung" (4. Dezember 2024 bis 23. Juni 2025) des Theatermuseums in Kooperation mit der Wienbibliothek im Rathaus beleuchtet Johann Strauss (Sohn) aus vielfältigen Blickwinkeln: In zahlreichen Beiträgen wird nicht nur das sozial-, wirtschafts- und musikgeschichtliche sowie das familiäre Umfeld des Komponisten und sein musikalisches Schaffen dargestellt, sondern auch seine Rezeption in Film und Fernsehen. Seine Rolle als Orchesterleiter, Operettenkomponist und Vorläufer moderner U-Musik-Größen wird ebenso behandelt wie seine musikalischen Mitarbeiter. Im Fokus steht auch die Privatperson Johann Strauss, als Liebhaber und Ehemann zeigt er sich im Spannungsfeld zwischen äußerem Glanz und innerer Unsicherheit.
