Thomas Macho

was born 1952 in Vienna. He studied Philosophy, Music and Pedagogy at the University of Vienna. He has been a professor of Cultural Studies at the Humboldt University in Berlin since 1993 and became director of the Hermann von Helmholtz Centre for Cultural Sciences at the Humboldt University in 2009. He has published numerous works, most recently "Menschen – Tiere – Maschinen" (humans – animals – machines) (2010).

geboren 1912 in Luzern, Konditorlehre. 1936 Eintritt in den Orden der Benediktiner von Disentis; Gymnasiallehrer, Benefiziant und Pfarrverweser, Spiritual und Administrator im Frauenkloster St. Johann in Müstair/Graubünden. 1989 Heimkehr ins Mutterkloster Disentis. Er starb 1997.

Thomas Brussig was born in 1956 in Berlin where he also lives as an author and screenwriter. Wrote the award-winning script for "Sonnenallee" (with Leander Haußmann, 1999), winner of the "Hans-Fallada-Preis" (2000) and the "Carl-Zuckmayer-Medaille" (2005). Publications: "Helden wie wir" (Heroes like us), "Sonnenallee", "Wie es leuchtet" (How it shines), "Die Berliner Orgie" (The Berlin Orgy).
